These terms and conditions apply to stays (lodgings) booked with Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen. The terms for wine sales (Part A) are available in French on the French version of this page.
These terms and conditions apply to any booking of a lodging with Domaine Céline & Frédéric Gueguen (“the Domaine”) made on the chablis-gueguen.fr website, by phone or by e-mail. By confirming a booking, the guest acknowledges having read and accepted them.

The Domaine offers short-term rental of The Studio, The Apartment, The Duplex, the Vaudésir, Grenouilles, Les Clos and Les Preuses suites, and Pauline’s House.
Each lodging is presented with its maximum capacity, which may not be exceeded. Photographs and descriptions are indicative; minor differences (furniture, decoration) do not constitute a defect in the service.
Steps. Bookings are made online: choice of dates and number of guests, review of the rate, entry of contact details, then registration of the bank card. A booking is firm once the guest receives the on-screen confirmation, together with a booking code.
Guest. The guest must be of legal age and provide accurate information (name, e-mail, phone number). The guest is responsible for the information entered.
Capacity. The number of guests declared may not exceed the capacity of the lodging. The Domaine may refuse access to any undeclared person who would take the number of occupants above that capacity.
Availability. Availability is as displayed at the time of booking. A minimum stay may apply on certain dates.
Prices. Prices are in euros, all taxes included, with VAT included at the rate of 10%.
Included services. The price of the lodging includes end-of-stay cleaning, bed and bath linen, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
Tourist tax. Tourist tax is added to the price of the lodging. It is calculated according to the rate set by the municipality, the number of guests and the number of nights, and is collected by the Domaine on behalf of the local authority. Persons exempted by law (notably minors) do not pay it. The amount displayed at the time of booking is updated before arrival: it may therefore be higher or lower than the amount initially displayed. The updated amount is sent to the guest by e-mail and charged to the same bank card.
Confirmed price. The price of the lodging displayed before booking does not change after confirmation, unless the guest requests a change.
Optional services. Early check-in (before 4 p.m.) and late check-out (after 10 a.m.) are possible subject to availability, for an additional fee, to be requested and paid for through the guest app.
Promo codes. A promo code is valid on the dates and under the conditions set by the Domaine, cannot be combined with another unless stated otherwise, and cannot be redeemed for cash. It can only be applied before the booking is confirmed.
Payment is made by bank card through the payment provider Stripe. The Domaine does not store card data, which is processed directly by Stripe.
When booking, the guest’s bank card is securely saved. The amount of the stay is charged automatically to this card 5 days before the arrival date. If arrival is less than 5 days away, the card is charged automatically as soon as the booking is confirmed. The guest undertakes to have the necessary funds available and not to dispute the charge.
Strong customer authentication (3-D Secure) may be requested by the guest’s bank.
Failed payment. If the charge fails, the Domaine informs the guest by e-mail or by phone. The guest has 24 hours to settle the payment. Failing that, the Domaine may cancel the booking, without the guest being entitled to any compensation.
Free cancellation. The guest may cancel a booking up to 2 days before the arrival date. The guest is then refunded in full for any amount already paid; if the charge described in article B.5 has not yet taken place, nothing is charged.
Late cancellation. After that deadline, no refund is given: the full price of the stay remains due. The same applies in the event of a no-show or an early departure, unless the Domaine agrees otherwise in writing.
How to cancel. Cancellations are made by e-mail to contact@chablis-gueguen.fr or by phone on +33 3 86 81 52 56, with an acknowledgement of receipt from the Domaine. The date taken into account is the date the request is received.
Changes. Any request to change the dates or the number of guests is considered subject to availability and may result in a change of price. Failing agreement, the cancellation conditions above apply.
Refunds. Refunds are made to the card used for payment within 3 days of receipt of the cancellation request. How long the refund takes to appear on the bank statement depends on the guest’s bank.
In accordance with Article L221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services to be provided on a specific date or during a specific period. A booking is therefore firm once confirmed, subject to the cancellation conditions of article B.6.
Times. Check-in from 4 p.m. and check-out before 10 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out are possible under the conditions of article B.4.
Keys. Depending on the lodging, by access code or key box. The necessary information is sent to the guest before arrival.
Security deposit. No security deposit is required. The guest remains responsible for any damage caused during the stay (article B.9).
Return. The lodging must be left in a normal state of cleanliness. End-of-stay cleaning is included.
Guests must occupy the premises peacefully, with respect for neighbours, the building and the village, particularly at night.
In all lodgings, pets are not allowed, smoking is prohibited, and parties and events are prohibited.
The guest is responsible for any damage caused during the stay and must report any incident to the Domaine without delay. In the event of a serious breach of the house rules, the Domaine may end the stay without refund.
The Domaine is responsible for the proper performance of the services included in the booking, within the limits provided by law. It is not liable for personal belongings forgotten or left in the lodging, nor for theft in the absence of fault on its part.
The Domaine may cancel a booking in the event of force majeure or if it is materially impossible to host the guest (damage, urgent works, unavailability of the lodging). It informs the guest without delay and refunds all sums paid; it will endeavour to offer equivalent alternative accommodation. The guest may only rely on force majeure under the conditions set by law.
Any complaint may be sent to contact@chablis-gueguen.fr or by post to the Domaine’s address. A reply is given within a reasonable time.
To process a booking, the Domaine collects the guest’s surname, first name, e-mail, phone number, dates and number of guests, as well as the information needed for payment and for the tourist tax. This data is used to perform the contract, manage the relationship with the guest, take payment and meet legal obligations (accounting, tourist tax).
It is kept for 5 years from the end of the stay for the relationship with the guest, and for 10 years for accounting records. It is shared with the providers involved in the booking: Guesty (booking management), Stripe (payment) and Cloudflare (anti-bot protection of the website), where applicable with the safeguards provided by the GDPR in the event of processing outside the European Union.
The guest has the right of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability, which can be exercised at contact@chablis-gueguen.fr, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority).
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any legal action. Failing that, and subject to the rules protecting consumers, the French courts have jurisdiction. A guest who is a consumer may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence or those of the place where the service is performed.
